Inflation in the UK slowed last month owing to a fall in transport prices and the timing of Easter, taking the Consumer Prices Index measure to 3%.
The CPI rate, measuring the cost of living, fell from 3.5% in March to its lowest since February 2010, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
